Deleston cut by Colonials

East Hartford's Dahna Deleston didn't make the final roster cut of the team which will play football across the street from the East Hartford home where he grew up.
The Hartford Colonials of the United Football League cut Deleston, a product of the University of Connecticut and East Catholic HIgh School, Thursday to pare their roster down from 63 players to the required 52-player mandate.
The Colonials released the former UConn starting safety along with fellow UConn teammate and offensive lineman Mike Hicks, and the following 10 players:
C Ryan Blaszczyk, Rutgers
OT Joe Gibbs, Tennessee-Martin
DL Michael Hancock, Florida Atlantic
DL Kyle Harrington, Massachusetts
RB Tory Harrison, Southern Miss
RB Marlon Lucky, Nebraska
DE James Ruffin, Northern Iowa
WR Roren Thomas, Lindenwood
DB Tony Tiller, East Tennessee State
TE Chris Vaughn, Louisville
The Colonials also signed RB Dwayne Wright (Fresno State), who was recently released by the Steelers. Hartford's roster has been finalized with the UFL and will be announced Friday.
The Colonials open the season Sept. 18 against Sacramento at Rentschler Field on Silver Lane. Kickoff is 2:30 p.m.
