Susan Ricci

Born in Meriden on April 12, 1948, a daughter of the late Henry and Lorraine (Dorschied) Bovino, she had been a resident of East Hartford for most of her life. She attended schools in East Hartford and was a graduate of George J. Penney High School, class of 1966.

Susan took great pride in her home, especially her flower gardens and vegetable garden. She was an excellent baker who loved making cookies around the holidays and was known for her famous turkey cookies. Sue liked going to craft fairs, solving crossword puzzles, and being around the ocean with her family. One of Sue’s greatest attributes was enjoying talking to anyone she would meet and making people laugh. Sue was also a member of the former Faith Lutheran Church in East Hartford and a longtime participant with the Compassionate Friends, and a Bereavement Resource Center in Wethersfield. Most of all, Sue was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and aunt who cherished her time spent with her family.

Susan leaves her beloved daughter, Kate E. Ricci and her fiancé Jason Galpin of Middletown; two brothers, Michael Bovino and his wife Betty of Meriden, Joseph Cassello and his wife Lisa of Bolton; a sister-in-law, Carol Lambert of East Hampton; several nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, and dear friends. In addition to her husband and parents, Sue was predeceased by her son, Jason Paul Ricci of East Hartford and her stepfather, Peter Cassello of East Hartford.
